A portfolio observatory

Your ETFs own the world. Just not evenly.

Build a portfolio, look through every fund, and see the country exposure underneath. Then hold it up against the actual shape of the global economy.

The question

Diversified by fund count is not the same as diversified by world.

A portfolio can hold thousands of companies and still lean heavily on one country, one currency and one set of listed companies. ETF Weight treats the fund label as a starting point, not the answer.

We multiply each fund's reported country and company weights by your allocation, aggregate the result, and place it beside independently published measures of the real economy. The gaps are the story.

Read the calculation contract

Compose with percentages

Choose from the rights-cleared catalogue, assign allocations that total exactly 100%, and inspect the combined exposure. No silent normalisation.

Compare with the real world

Switch between nominal GDP, PPP GDP, population and listed-market capitalisation. See overweight and underweight country by country, in percentage points.

Rank the companies underneath

Aggregate overlapping holdings across funds. See each company's effective portfolio weight and the funds that contribute it, with the reported country attached.

What this is — and is not

A measuring instrument, not a recommendation engine.

GDP is not a target allocation. A company's legal home is not its revenue map. A listed-market benchmark is not the whole economy. The tool makes those distinctions visible instead of hiding them in a single score.

Important limitation

The current catalogue uses US-listed reference ETFs and SEC-reported issuer countries. UCITS/provider coverage requires a commercially licensed holdings feed; see the data page for the decision.

Built for scrutiny

Every number carries its passport.

Reference dates, source licences, coverage, residual cash and missing-country gaps are part of the result — not a footnote added after launch.

01

Public, reusable filings

Holdings come from SEC Form N-PORT, where public filing content is free to access and reuse. No issuer-page scraping.

02

Open benchmark data

World Bank WDI indicators are used under CC BY 4.0 with attribution, reference years and coverage counts.

03

Honest gaps

Cash, derivatives and non-equity positions remain residual. A missing benchmark is shown as a gap, never invented as zero.
